Polymer Clay Work

Based on an ancient Roman glass technique of ‘Murrini’ canework, (similar to making seaside rock and slicing through to get multiple decorative discs), my polymer-clay pieces are designed to be framed, and hung on internal walls. They measure up to approximately 400mm square. The kaleidoscope effect of rose windows and complex tracery patterns from medieval cathedral construction, forms the basic structure of my designs.

I start with the basic design structure, then get to work on manipulating the clay canes. I love to see the patterns emerge and the overall design evolve as the process progresses.

This work can be designed to compliment any interior. They are ideal presents, especially for special occasions such as weddings and anniversaries. I can personalise them with calligraphic text incorporated into the design.
